J056-Steel Structures Drafting Engineer

• Detailed Drafting & Modeling: Prepare detailed Fabrication Drawings (Shop Drawings) and Erection Drawings for steel structures, ensuring all connections, welds, and dimensions are accurate for manufacturing.
• Create 2D and 3D models of complex steel assemblies using AutoCAD to visualize structural integration with roofing and tensile systems.
• Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) and Material Take-Offs (MTO) directly from drawings to assist procurement.
• Design Standards & Compliance: Ensure all drawings adhere to relevant IS Codes (Indian Standards) and international structural steel detailing standards.
• Maintain standard drafting templates, layers, and blocks to ensure consistency across all Skyshade project files.
• Incorporate red-line markups and revisions from Structural Engineers and Project Managers into the final "Good for Construction" (GFC) drawings.
• Coordination & Support: Collaborate with the structural analysis team to understand load paths and connection details (bolted/welded).
• Coordinate with the factory/production team to resolve any queries regarding fabrication details during the manufacturing process.
• Assist in site coordination by providing clear, readable installation drawings for the site erection team.

• Experience: 2–3 years of specific experience in Steel Structure Detailing (Industrial sheds, PEB, or Heavy Steel fabrication).
• Proven track record of producing error-free shop drawings for fabrication.
• Technical Skills:
• Mastery of AutoCAD 2D & 3D: Must be able to move fluidly between 2D drafting and 3D modeling for visualization.
• Steel Detailing Knowledge: Deep understanding of steel sections (beams, columns, tubes), connection details (base plates, gusset plates, stiffeners), and welding symbols.
• Documentation: Ability to read architectural blueprints and structural engineer sketches accurately.
• Bonus: Familiarity with other detailing software (like Tekla or Revit) is an advantage, though not mandatory.
• Soft Skills:
• High attention to detail (precision is critical).
• Ability to meet tight project deadlines.
• Good communication skills to discuss technical details with engineers.
